Original handcrafted Takahashi bird pins are being created for display and sale at the Manzanar National Historic Site in Independance, CA (www.manzanarstore.com).  These hand carved and hand painted bird pins represent an exact duplicate of the bird design created by Yoneguma and Kiyoka Takahashi while interned at Poston Camp (Arizona) during World War II and turned their skills into a successful family business that spanned over 40 years.

This poster shows a sampling of original handcrafted bird pins from the Takahashi collection.

We have been granted permission to reproduce four birds from the original Takahashi collection.  If you would like to see additional birds replicated please indicate your bird of choice by contacting the Manzanar History Association.                                    $150.00 ea. Sales goes towards the continued support of the Manzanar History Museum.

Shadow Box concept for your replicas.  Two or three years ago someone brought up the question about putting these bird pins in a shadow box.  Here it is.  This is a great way to display and preserve your collection of pins.
